Mountain bikers: Yield to wildlife?

stinkbug_0053.jpgOk, so if you’ve been mountain biking more than a couple times you’ve probably seen or heard the rule that mountain bikers yield the trail to hikers and equestrians. Well at one mountain bike 101 class they’re teaching a new rule: mountain bikes must yield to wildlife.
Of course you’d be crazy to run into a deer or even a dog on the trail since you’ll end up on the gr…

Ultimate Frisbee on Mountain Bikes

What happens when you combine ultimate frisbee with mountain biking? You get MTBU, a franken-sport being played in grassy fields since it’s invention in 1990. I had personally never heard of it until I ran across the website today but apparently the “sport” has been featured in a number of the big mountain bike magazines over the years.

If you’ve ever played ultimate fri…

EXPIRED: Recumbents
TIRED: Fixies

Psst! Sweet deals on Garmin Edge GPS

;)We really love the Garmin Edge series of cycling GPS units and we couldn’t pass up giving you a little shopping tip: Don’t pay full retail for these babies. The MSRP for the Edge 205 is $269 and Performance Bike sells them online for $199, which isn’t bad. But you’d be a sucker to buy one at Performance because you can buy them online RIGHT NOW for just $119 at Amazon.com!

Well this weekend I experienced an even bigger problem: my Edge 305 died. I had charged the GPS overnight before heading out to Fort Mountain for an early ride but when I arrived at the trailhead…

New mountain bike trails in Cleveland

Although mountain bikers have been riding the trails in Cleveland Metroparks’ Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation in Cuyahoga Heights for years, it was never officially sanctioned: until now.
